Chapter Thirteen

Two weeks of pain

I am finally on my way home. Sincere had to go pick up my prescription the doctor gave me. After that, we headed home, as soon as we walked through the doors I went straight upstairs to the bed. I had a little visitor in my bed waiting for me. Shanique fell asleep waiting for me to come home. I smiled and climbed in bed right next to her.

I put my arms around her and fell asleep with her. Sincere was so tired he climbed in the bed with both of us and fell asleep too. It felt so good to be home and sleep in my own bed after so long. I am upset a little that my little sister has been making herself sick worrying about me. We grew close from the day my mother came to my door with them. She is so beautiful with her long brown and black hair, caramel complexion looking like she has the perfect tan. Her hazel green eyes make her look like a little black Barbie doll.

She has my mother’s eyes and lips and looks like my grandmother in a small way. When I finally opened my eyes, Nique was wide wake brushing my hair as if I were one of her baby dolls.

“Hey little mama, did you sleep ok?” I looked up at her and she frowned at me. “No the baby kicked me in my back, so I tried to talk to him. He did not want to talk to me he just kicked me in my chin.” I smiled at her and looked over to the other side of the bed and noticed Sincere was not there.

“Where is Sincere?”

“He went down stairs to the kitchen.” She smiled. “He said he had a surprise for you when you wake up and he told me to remind you to take your medicine.” I smiled back.

“Ok I will, run down stairs and tell Sin that I said make us one big bowl of ice cream. Tell him to put bananas, strawberries, cherries, and whipped cream in it too. If he ask say because the baby hit you.” She jumped up off the bed and ran out the room as I silently laughed to myself.

I slowly sat up in bed and looked over at the table. Sincere had the bottle of pills waiting for me next to a bottle of water. I took the pill and chased it with water, a few minutes later Sincere walked in here with a tray of food. He cooked baked macaroni and cheese, baked chicken breast, collard greens, and potato salad. I smiled at him and gave him a kiss, Sincere always took care of me. I was always the one doing the cooking in the house. He kissed me again.

“Now if you’re a good girl you can have ice cream.” We laughed in unison and I playfully punched him on his arm. “Nique is down stairs eating, I told her the same thing.
